The Measuring Stick is one of a growing family of products and services provided by KC Management Group.

Craig and Larene Spitler began their odyssey into educational testing in 1994 when Craig was teaching for the Benjamin Franklin Academy in Long Beach, California. Part of the private school program was frequent testing utilizing GED diagnostic testing. Grading these tests was a long and complicated process, which Larene automated through a series of computer programs. Subsequently, Craig and Larene were invited to become National Directors of Testing for the Benjamin Franklin Academy with over 42 campuses across the United States. They developed testing materials and statistical analysis models to validate these materials with respect to the GED, ACT, and SAT.

Realizing that there was a strong need for testing in the home and private school arena, CER, BFA's parent company, began providing these tests through the mail which turned out to be an expensive and laborious process both for us and for the families.

The Measuring Stick was subsequently conceived to reduce the cost and to speed the delivery of testing and results.
